Barns from Beijing

Arts Letters & Numbers hosted a group of students and teachers coming from CAFA (Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, China) for a 5 day immersive workshop. The first week of the project was at ALN and the last week was at CAFA in Beijing. This project was part of the 'Future Unknown' Chancellors Summit that CAFA held in early November, inviting over 100 university presidents from around the world for a 3 day event. Teaching team: David Gersten, Frida Foberg, Homa Shojaie, Jennifer Park, Hyunbae Chang, and Nick Meehan. Film: Nick Meehan

Digital Living Hybrids

On the first frozen weekend of January Keren Mendjul & Nick Meehan took over the Arts Letters & Numbers studio to create a lab for testing, hacking, and questioning digital capture methods to create a 1:1 installation of the surrounding landscape. Partnering with Hudson Virtual Capture, local historians, and one corporeal mime, the workshop brought together artists, architects and designers to learn 3D scanning and bring the surrounding Wynantskill Stream into the lab for public exhibition.
